Brian Bozworth Jr. booted from team

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee football team has dismissed Brian Bozworth Jr. from the team according to Athletic Director and head coach Scott Owens.

Bozworth was among the league’s leaders in both tackles and tackles for loss before being jettisoned from the team. The 5-star middle linebacker carried a stigma from his father’s playing days.

“The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” said CFSL commissioner Mike Peters.

Bozworth got into a late-night altercation with several members of the league at league headquarters a little over a week ago. Nobody was injured in the altercation but alcohol, and possibly drugs, were believed to play a role.

“We can’t have that kind of behavior.” said Peters. “These are all athletes and emotions can run high. However, we’ve got to reel ourselves in at times and put the best interest of our team in place of our own interests at times.”

Junior linebacker Caleb Tuiasosopo will move inside and fill Bozworth’s role going forward. Walk on defensive tackle Andre Taylor has been given a scholarship and will fill the unoccupied roster spot.

Tennessee is currently on a two-game winning streak and two games out of a potential playoff spot with three games to play in the season.
