Season 20 is upon us! Can you believe this league started six years ago? Time flies when you’re racking up touchdowns!
Every season keeps getting better. This year, TAMU is back and Michigan State joins the fray. Where do they land in the rankings? Let’s break down my preseason top 10.
#1 FLORIDA STATE
Elite WR Dave Axis, 5-Star Tank Monday, and 5-Star Dash Delano headline Florida State’s recruiting and transfer class. After a bitter loss to their rival Florida last season, the Seminoles are back with a vengeance, boasting one of Grin’s best squads yet. The hunt is on.
#2 KENTUCKY
Kentucky’s AD only knows how to win. Devan’s program added another championship to its collection last season, their third in four years. Recruits Plano Greene, Ricky Rak, and TJ Cunnington will do their best to keep that winning tradition alive. Kentucky and Florida State are neck and neck in the rankings, but only one can take the crown
#3 TEXAS
Texas has another new AD as Moreland steps in to lead a squad thirsty for their first national title since Season 5. The defense is stacked in the backfield with a brigade of 5-stars. Can a first-time AD seize the title on his debut? It’s a high-stakes drama in Austin.
#4 MICHIGAN
The Wolverines stumbled against eventual champs Kentucky last season, but they’re primed for another deep playoff run. Senior QB Greg Cooksey is back, ready to sling more than just pigskins this season with 68 touchdowns under his bell
#5 ILLINOIS
Illinois looks to repeat as Big 10 champions after adding eight 5-stars this offseason. QB Noir Royal was a shadow of his former self in their season-ending loss to USC, tossing just 282 yards—way off his 417-yard average and 28-6 TD-INT ratio from last season. Will he bounce back to lead the Fighting Illini to glory
#6 AUBURN
Beard on Blast takes over at Auburn after a stellar run at Texas. The spotlight may be less intense than at Texas, but Beard is set up for success after adding 13 5-star transfers. The Tigers haven’t toppled their rivals Alabama since Season 12. Is this the year they finally break the streak?
#7 USC
The Trojans aim to rebound after being humbled by Florida in the playoffs. Venmo, former AD of Florida, has now joined USC as their quarterback, in a classic “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em” move. This switch should help the Trojans compete in the Big 10.
#8 OREGON
The Ducks stunned many last season with their 5-4 record and playoff run. This year, they mean business with TE Deebo Thomas and MLB Isaiah Mosley joining the flock. Can they soar to new heights, or will the sophomore slump ground them in Eugene?
#9 MICHIGAN STATE
The Spartans are the new kids on the block and are determined to make a splash. Rookie QB Cole Mantell aims to lead Michigan State into the league with a bang, hoping to match their chat room hype with on-field fireworks. They may have no 5-star cornerbacks, but who needs defense when you can outgun your opponents
#10 PENN STATE
Smitty has always been a winner and aims to build on last season’s 6-4 record. Can newcomers Admiral Lasky and Benjamin Carter help them navigate the treacherous Big 10 waters?
With Season 20 on the horizon, the competition is set to be fierce. Florida State and Kentucky are locked in a battle at the top, Texas aims for a return to former glory, and newcomers like Michigan State are looking to upset the established order. From seasoned contenders like Michigan and Illinois to wild cards like Oregon and Auburn, this season promises to be a thrilling ride. Will Penn State’s newcomers light the path to glory, or will USC’s revamped lineup dominate the headlines? One thing’s for sure: buckle up, because it will be an epic season!
