The Week of Conference Play
In Week 4 of Season 22 of the CFSL, we kicked off the much-anticipated conference play schedule! The excitement is electric as thrilling storylines unfold on the field. Get ready to dive into the action as we explore three incredible games, featuring stunning victories and heartbreaking defeats that have left fans on the edge of their seats!
Memorable Moments
The first week of conference play in the ACC has been nothing short of electrifying! Instead of diving deep into just one or two games, I thought it would be thrilling to highlight some standout moments from each matchup. To get the inside scoop, I reached out to each team’s athletic director, and their insights certainly didn’t disappoint!
Let’s start with the Miami vs. North Carolina showdown—what a thriller! This game was packed with jaw-dropping plays, but two in particular caught the attention of both ADs. For Miami, Jalen Irving delivered an astonishing 50-yard reception that was pivotal in securing the win over North Carolina. I attempted to connect with AD Daniel Gunn for the North Carolina perspective, but his schedule was likely packed as he prepared for their next challenge. So, I’m weighing in for him! Despite the team’s loss, quarterback Kevin Price turned in a stellar performance, throwing for 352 yards and completing 41 of 54 passes, with three touchdowns and zero interceptions! That’s a game to remember for sure!
Next up, we had the nail-biter between Florida State and Clemson. This clash was a battle of wills, showcasing just how fiercely both teams fought, even though Clemson ultimately came up short. Florida State’s AD shared that the standout moment for him was Senior Bill Bass’s incredible pick-six—his second in as many weeks! Meanwhile, Clemson’s AD Wetzel highlighted the game’s remarkable feature of three pick-sixes, stating that each one deserved to be celebrated!
Finally, we can’t overlook the explosive matchup between Virginia Tech and Notre Dame, where Virginia Tech unleashed an offensive onslaught! The AD from Virginia Tech exclaimed that Harper Orndorrf’s deep touchdown catch was a game-changer, igniting the spirit of the entire locker room. On the other side, Notre Dame’s AD found the game to be more of a routine affair but commended Jacobia Watson’s brilliant interception and Rowan Perez’s electrifying 67-yard touchdown in the second quarter for keeping tensions high in the early stages.
