The CFSL Season 23 Recruiting window is hours from opening! This is an exciting time in the CFSL calendar. However, as the vets in the league know, it is also a time that usually comes with suspensions. So, I am here to help new recruits (and old ones that take a while to learn) avoid starting their careers on the bench.
Read the Rulebook
This is the best advice anyone can give you in the league. It takes two minutes to read the CFSL Player Rulebook and it could save you a headache later. You can find the rule book right here.
Know Your Star Level
Four and Five Star players will be available for teams to recruit. Three-star players will not. Instead, Three Stars will be headed to the CFSL Three Star Draft. If you are a three-star and you want to be recruited, all you have to do is upgrade before recruiting stars.
The deadline to upgrade and be included in this season’s recruiting is Friday, April 4th at 6:00 P.M. CST.
Also, any player created after the recruiting window opens will be added to the draft pool. This includes all four and five stars that are made late.
Be Active
Every AD and coach in the league will tell you they love active guys on their team. If you want to catch the eyes of the recruiters around the league, be active! Hop into LeagueChat and get to know some folks from around the league.
Also, this is a great opportunity to ask questions about the league. If you ask the public in LeagueChat or OffTopic, you are bound to get a quick answer.
Have Fun
The recruiting cycle is a whirlwind. Your DMs will be flooded (I promise you they will, even if it doesn’t happen right away) with eager coaches wanting you to come to their school. Have fun with the process. Welcome to the CFSL and good luck in the coming season!
