Season 23 is about to kick off in less than a week, but before we get into the high-flying action, let’s take a look at what we might expect.
This season, the AD coaches’ poll returns. Just like last season, I asked every AD to rank their conference (excluding their own team). Then I averaged them out to come up with these rankings. Before we jump in, let’s take a look at how this conference finished last season.
Last Season Standings
Rank | Team | Regular Season Record |
1 | Virginia Tech* | 6-2 |
2 | Florida State* | 6-2 |
3 | Miami* | 6-2 |
4 | Clemson* | 4-4 |
5 | North Carolina* | 3-5 |
6 | Notre Dame | 1-7 |

The ACC thinks there will be a little shake-up in the rankings from last season. They project that Virginia Tech and North Carolina will swap places, and the Tar Heels will win their second-ever Conference Championship.
According to the ADs, the rest of the league will stay the same. It is worth noting that Miami did have more first-place votes than Florida State, but Florida State still had a better average rank.
This was the best conference in the CFSL last season, and they proved that by advancing five teams to the playoffs. We will see if they can do that again this season.
