The Big XII has been wild the past few seasons. Now LSU is gone, and in comes Nebraska. We will see just how crazy the ADs think it will be this season.
Before we do, let’s look at how this conference shaped up last season.
Last Season Standings
Rank | Team | Regular Season Record |
1 | Texas A&M* | 4-4 |
2 | Colorado* | 5-3 |
3 | Texas* | 5-3 |
4 | Oklahoma* | 5-3 |
5 | LSU | 3-5 |
6 | West Virginia | 1-7 |
AD Coaches’ Poll
Projected Finish | Team | First Place Votes |
1 | Texas A&M | 4 |
2 | Oklahoma | 1 |
3 | Texas | 1 |
4 | Colorado | – |
5 | West Virginia | – |
6 | Nebraska | – |
According to the ADs, this is Texas A&M’s conference to lose. They were the top pick for the majority of teams. They took first in this poll by the largest margin of any first-place team. The next three were razor-thin close.
Oklahoma had one more point in the poll than both Texas and Colorado, who tied. Texas broke the tie by receiving one first-place vote.
There was a decent gap to West Virginia in fifth and Nebraska in sixth. Just like Iowa in the Big10, the Big XII expects Nebraska to have some struggles before they find their feet.
This conference has ended in a three-way tie to decide playoff spots in each of the last two seasons. Will it happen once again? I know the rest of the CFSL is hoping so.
