Former Foes – Oklahoma vs LSU
Another of the final games of Week 2, a matchup between former conference foes that I picked to be a blood bath of a matchup. Boy, was I wrong. Oklahoma welcomed LSU to Norman and said, “Have a seat and let me teach you a little something about football.” Oklahoma dominated this matchup and even led in every measurable stat recorded (besides 3rd and 4th down attempts). Himoteo Del Este looked like the number one overall draft pick as he tossed and toted the rock all over the field. Here is a look at his all-star stat line:
Comp | Att | Yards | TD | INT | Car | Yards | TD | BTK |
37 | 38 | 380 | 5 | 0 | 21 | 139 | 3 | 4 |
It’s going to be difficult to perform to that level for the rest of the season. I mean, putting up 8 total touchdowns and no turnovers to your name is ridiculous. I tell you one thing, though, he’s got my attention fully on Oklahoma now. I’m looking forward to seeing which side prevails this week as Oklahoma faces off with the defensive Juggernaut from Michigan.
Righting the Ship – Texas A&M Restores Order
The Aggies performed to expectations in Week 2 after falling short in Week 1. They welcomed Big 10 powerhouse USC to Kyle Field on Tuesday, and it was an offensive explosion from both sides. The two offenses combined for 117 points, 1133 yards, and a 57% shared third-down conversion rate, but the defenses were having trouble stopping much of anything. This is something the Aggies will look to improve on in their final week before conference play opens.
Malcom Streets got back to his winning ways this week, but not with help from senior wideout Eli Riggins as expected. Not even from freshman standout Spencer Bady. It was on the back of junior Receiver Jimbo Hawk that Streets found his stride again. Hawk pulling in 8 catches for 198 yards and 3 touchdowns, including an 80-yard bomb. He also dumped four guys on their backs for pancakes. Showing that the selfless player gets his now and then, too!
This week, A&M will need to keep Streets performing well as they welcome Alabama to town. A team that has struggled so far this season, but still holds most of the same roster that went 8-0 in regular season play last season. This game is a rematch of the Season 22 Gator Bowl, where Texas A&M got the better of Alabama 38-10. Let’s see if Streets and company can get a streak going before conference play begins.
Nebraska’s Noah Johnson Earns First CFSL Win
Late Thursday night, those of us still watching got to witness the birth of a new winning tradition in the CFSL. New AD Noah Johnson, who showed his grit and drive last season when taking over for Kentucky midway through, has recorded his first victory as an AD! After falling in a close battle to Iowa in Week 1, Nebraska took down Tennessee with a commanding 55-17 victory.
I think the biggest reason we succeeded so well was because we saw a lot of holes in their defense that we could exploit and afford to force the ball more offensively, And with turnovers we just played our game and let them force mistakes and we just capitalized our defense and the way I run my offense is run heavy and we did it amazing which helped with our time of possession and third down efficiency and we just ran the ball better this week.

Potential Big XII Game of the Week
Michigan vs. Oklahoma on Wednesday is my game to watch for the Game of the Week. With the way Del Este is playing, Oklahoma should be an exciting offense to watch. Even if Michigan’s defense makes things tough for them, I expect that we’ll still see some fireworks from that side of the football. Michigan is coming off a strong victory over Florida State, where the defenses showed out. Neither offense reached the 400 total yards mark. The big question here: can Michigan’s defense slow down Oklahoma’s offense? If they can’t, can Michael Amber put together enough of an offense to keep up?
Honorable Mention: Auburn vs. Colorado
