The playoff picture is coming into clearer view for some conferences (SEC) but not so much for others, (looking at you Big Ten), but we march on into week seven in the CFSL with a matchup between Clemson and Auburn. For the Clemson Tigers (6-0 overall) (3-0 SEC) they look to capitalize off of a dominant win vs Florida, and aim to feast on another conference foe in the Auburn Tigers (3-3 overall) (2-2 SEC).
Clemson
In Clemson’s most recent game against Florida, halfback Mike Chadwick ran wild on the Gators to the tune of 239 yards, and three scores on 31 carries. He paces the Tigers with 788 yards and nine touchdowns on the season. Linebacker Kobe King was as steady as ever with 10 tackles and one for a loss, while helping the Tigers stifle Kingston Fox for one touchdown and three picks in the game. Kobe King has 52 tackles, 10 for a loss and a Sack and will surely anchor this stout Clemson defense tonight. Clemson is out for blood as they aim for another championship, and tonight look to continue steamrolling through the CFSL, and SEC to remain undefeated
.
Auburn
In Auburn’s most recent game they went up against Texas, and succumbed to the Burnt Orange Buzzsaw, led by Ray Tatum, losing 34-23. Quarterback Griffin Jelkic threw for 399 yards, two scores and two picks, but on the year he’s been steady with 1,814 yards 13 touchdowns and seven interceptions on the year. A big part of the offense for Auburn last week, and just about every week is Cross Ferry III, and last week he showed up and showed out for his team with six catches for 191 yards and a touchdown, so it’s safe to say he is a bright spot on Offense. On the year he’s been electric with 34 catches for 614 yards and seven scores, avg 102.3 yards a game.
What To Watch For
Pay attention to how Auburn starts tonight’s game. They came out like a house on fire last week, but couldn’t keep up with the Texas offense for four quarters. If Auburn can improve upon their going 9/20 on third downs, then Auburn should be in position to win.
For Clemson, pay attention to Javon Mack tonight, if he can keep his mistakes low, and feed Mike Chadwick, while also letting Anthony Robertson III make plays at opportune times, then Clemson will look to be in for a victorious night. If Clemson scores on seven of eight red zone opportunities like they did last week, I find it hard for anyone to defeat them.
Prediction
I think this game will give all of us our money’s worth on both sides of the ball. Mark Calloway, Ollie P. Peters, and the Auburn defense will be hungry for a win tonight. Ultimately, I think that Javon Mack, Mike Chadwick, and Clemson will prevail, because they will take better care of the football, and they won’t waste their opportunities inside the red zone.
