After an amazing Week 1 full of upsets and close games, we take a look into Week 2. In this article, we will look into the best matchups of the week and some dark horse games you should tune in for. Let’s dive in.
(0-1)Texas vs (1-0) USC / Monday 6:30 on Twitch
Opening up Week 2 is a matchup of two powerhouses in their respective conferences. USC started their season with a convincing win over conference opponent Oregon 45-7. Texas was not so lucky, as they started their season with a loss, albeit a close one. This will be the fifth matchup between these two programs and USC has won every previous meeting. Can the Trojans keep the unbeaten streak alive or will their former QB lead the Longhorns to victory?
(1-0) LSU vs (1-0) Auburn / Tuesday 8:30 on Twitch
This is a matchup between two new ADs of their respective programs looking to go 2-0. LSU holds the edge in their last meeting on August 11th, 2022 with the close win 44-42. Who will come out on top in a battle between two great QBs, Beau Dale and Jay Duke?
(1-0) Colorado vs (1-0) WVU / Thursday 8:30 on Twitch
The second-ever battle for John Denver’s Guitar happens on Thursday. West Virginia won their first matchup last season in a 59-49 win. However, both squads look a lot different than they did last season. One of these teams will be 2-0 after this meeting and one will be looking for answers.
Darkhorse Games
(0-1) Florida vs (0-1) Tennessee / Tuesday 6:30 on Youtube
Both teams are coming off tough and close losses in Week 1. They both will look to come back with vengeance and vye for their first win of the season. Another interesting thing to note: Tennessee’s last win came against the Gator. Can Tennessee put the losing streak to bed or will the Gators help it continue?
(0-1) Syracuse vs (0-1) Baylor / Thursday 8:30 on Youtube
You can always say the first time for everything. Well, this is a first-ever matchup between these two teams. Baylor almost pulled off the upset last week against Michigan and Syracuse with a tough loss to UNC. Can Baylor continue their dual threat attack, or can Syracuse find an answer in the passing game?
(0-1) Michigan State vs (0-1) Oregon / Tuesday 6:30 on Youtube
This is another first-time-ever matchup between these two programs as it is Michigan State’s first season in the league. The Spartans had a close loss to Texas A&M in a 20-19 loss, while Oregon struggled against USC. Can MSU find that success on offense or can Oregon’s secondary force the turnovers to ease their offense into success?
There are a lot of great games this week! Good luck to all 26 teams in Week Two!
