Season 21 is in the books (Congrats again, Trojans)! Now it is time to set our sights on Season 22. For those who tuned in for the National Championship Game Preview show, you already heard about these big announcements. For those who didn’t, this will catch you up.
Wookie Is Back
Josh Claydon, aka Wookie, is retiring from retirement. It was announced that the Hall of Fame AD will be returning to the AD ranks this season. Claydon will be taking over LSU. Former LSU AD Drake Babineau is stepping down after two seasons with the Tigers.
Wookie has won 43 games and two National Championships as the AD of Notre Dame. He held that post from Season 11 to Season 17.
The Three-Star Draft
It was also announced during the Pregame Show that starting in Season 22, the CFSL will be holding a three-star draft. Any three-star who isn’t on a roster will be added to the draft pool. The draft order will be the reverse order of the previous season’s standings. Teams will draft until they hit the roster limit (which has yet to be set) then they will be out of the draft.
For four and five-star players, recruiting will work as normal and the draft will take place after regular recruiting.
If a three-star player upgrades during the season, they will be able to transfer to any program they wish at the end of the season. Three-stars can still be protected by an AD to remain on the team they currently on.
The CFSL Three-Star Draft will be held the weekend of December 20-22. An exact date and time will be announced at a later date.
