The first-ever Three-Star Draft is just over a week away. Before we get to this groundbreaking event, let’s get the facts.
Date & Time
The draft will be held on Sunday, December 22nd at 7 P.M. CST and it will be live on Twitch! That is right, you can watch the entire draft happening live with broadcasters providing insight into the picks.
How the Draft Works
Each team will have two minutes to make each pick. The order is the reverse order of last season’s standings (see below). Each team will draft until they hit the roster limit and then they are out of the draft.
There are a few other rules and tidbits to keep in mind for the draft. First, normally a player has to wait eight seasons to return to a team that they have left. That WILL NOT apply to players in the draft. Anyone that is in the draft can be picked by any team.
Second, any player in the league who is a 95 overall (or was a 95 overall last season) is a Ninja and counts toward the Ninja cap that each team has. If a player were to go into the draft as a Ninja, they would still count toward the Ninja cap. This means that a team that is at the cap CANNOT draft another Ninja player.
Third, every player in the draft can upgrade leading up to the draft. This, obviously, will increase their odds of going earlier.
Fourth, every profile that has been posted will be drafted.
Lastly, let’s talk about what happens after the draft. You will play next season for whatever team drafts you. If you wish to leave, you can always transfer after the season is over, as long as you have upgraded to at least a four-star. You could also stay with the team and continue your career there. There is also a third option. At the end of each season, ADs are required to claim any three-star players that they want to keep. If you remain a three-star and your AD decides to not keep you, you will be entered into the draft next season. This option would only apply to three-star players. Anyone above that will either stay on the team they are drafted to or transfer.
With all of that said, let’s get into the draft order!
