Week Three: Auburn vs. Oregon & Florida vs. USC

The last set of the games of Week 3 will start off with a bang. Auburn travels to Eugene to take on Oregon in a battle of .500 teams that are ready to get back in the winning column. To end the night Florida will travel to The Coliseum and take on a USC team coming off of their first win of the season.

Auburn vs. Oregon

Auburn comes into this game after a loss to Ohio State. The Tigers will be looking to get back on track and to do that they are going to need a big game from Griffin Jelkic. The quarterback currently only has two touchdowns on the year but also has no interceptions. Rushing wise he has not been in his usual self with only nine carries on the year albeit for a efficient 91 yards however this has to be expected when playing with Robert Davis who currently is tied for the lead in rushing touchdowns with five. Cross Ferry III is Jelkic’s best receiving target and he could be able to have a great game against a Oregon team giving up 250+ passing yards per game. On defense the tigers are led by their two game changing safeties Digger Graves and Ollie P. Peters. Add in linebacker Mark Calloway, defensive end Conrad Wallace, and corner LaRoi Sanders and this is a very hard unit to move the Ball against allowing a little over 30 points per game.

The Ducks are coming off of a great win over Texas. Now they will get a chance against another Preseason SEC favorite. Oregon’s offense is rolling right now. Devonta Cribbs is leading the best passing attack in the league right now highlighted by receiver Dijon Swann and tight end Max King. Halfback Jimmy Tickle is known as one of the more premier talents in the league at tailback but hasn’t got fully going yet. This is a tough Auburn opponent but Tickle could take off at any time. Defensively this unit has had some struggles to start the year but have the pieces to change that quickly. Defensive end Anthony Richardson is going to have to get to Jelkic and disrupt plays at the line of scrimmage for the Ducks. Cai Brummer and Shaka Black are  two of the better safeties in the game and they are going to have to be ready to lock down Ferry III and come down to the line of Scrimmage and make plays against Davis to give Oregon a chance.

Florida vs. USC

Florida almost got their first win of the season losing by a single point to Michigan. The Gators are now 0-2 in non-conference games and will play their last one against USC. Avery Jordan is going to need to break the 100 yard barrier, something he has yet to do this season if Florida wants to leave Victorious. Along with that Mathias St. John has been one of the best runners from the quarterback position in the league having almost 200 rushing yards through two games but has been unable to throw the ball efficiently currently having a touchdown to interception ratio of 2:4. He’s looked a lot better in his second game than his first but with receivers like Darren Pegues, Nick King, and Cole King expect him to get even better moving forward. Linebacker Wyatt King and corner Dakota Wolf have been the story on defense for the Gators. King has posted games of nine and 15 tackles through his first two weeks. Dakota Wolf on the other hand just had three interceptions in a game and has been a constant spark for the Gators. Mohammed Dmour is going to have his hands full dealing with Kingston Fox but if he can step up to the Task the Gators can leave Winners.

Coming off of a win versus Miami this USC team is looking to stay hot. Halfback Cain Robinson is a player who only gets stronger as the night goes on and is really hard to stop when he’s moving the chains. It’s nearly impossible to defend when you throw in a guy like Kingston Fox at quarterback. He’s had at least 200 yards throwing and 100 yards rushing in both games this year and continues to be the driving force of this offense. Speedster receiver Mason Winters will look to get over the 100 yard mark for the first time in his career and he will have a chance against this Florida secondary. Tight end Monte Jones scored his first touchdown of his career last week and has been a very reliable target for Fox early on. On defense the Trojans are led by their star duo of corners. Marcellus Burney and Johnathon Greene are locking down opposing receivers night in and night out. Sophomore safety Aiden Berry Is responsible for patrolling the middle for this team and he has done a great job helping this defense give up the 4th fewest first downs per game. Xavier Halle has been responsible for stopping opposing teams run games and he has limited other teams rushing numbers all year long.
