Week 5: Penn State vs Washington Preview

The final game of week 5 sees the Nittany Lions take on the Huskies. Washington is 2-2 while Penn State is 0-4. Both of these teams are looking to capitalize on these early conference games

Washington

Led by the dynamic duo of Doug Ohle and Ron Dayne Jr., Washington has no shortage of playmakers. Jace Rosser has Been a huge asset for them in the passing game. Their leading receiver has put up 4 touchdowns already. He is joined by Kayode Imani and Lord Helix in the receiving core.

On the other side of the ball, the Huskies are equally good. Their front 7 includes stars such as Erik Langston, Raekwon Dong, and Richard Bradley. Their secondary includes Digger Graves, Bubba Bullard, and Freddy Petty joined by Austin Johnson

Penn State

Robert Davis and Walker Mills run the Nittany Lions offense. Mills can throw to any of his star wide receivers including Ronald Fields, Robert Gomez, Dee Kendrick, and William Craft.

On the other side of the ball, Penn State has one of the great players in their secondary. Safety Aiden Berry can be a difference-maker just like Corner Harper Allen. DT Drew Ekstrum is the only notable player on the D-Line but he will need some help to stop the Huskies rushing attack.

What to watch for

Robert Davis versus Erik Langston

One of the best run stoppers versus one of the best rushers is the story of this game. Between Davis and Langston whoever wins this match will win the game.

Eric Langston

Prediction

Washington 34, Penn State 24

When it comes to these two teams whoever can do a better job stopping the run will win. Both teams need their ground game to get going but Washington looks better built to stop a rushing attack.
