Week Seven: Florida vs. TCU

Week seven brings us Florida versus TCU, two teams playing to close there season with some momentum. While both teams have been scrapping it out and giving other teams all they can handle, the luck of the football gods just hasn’t gone there way. Both will be looking to continue that trend for the other and with the talent that both theses teams have we could be in for a up and down the field treat.

FLORIDA

The Gators, while only having won one game, have been in every one of those loses. They are very a very much better team than there record would show and have a stud at quarterback named Kingston Fox. An elite athlete with the ability to put the ball deep down the field and take off when needed. Adding the threesome of receivers Darren Pegues, Nick King, and Cole King means TCU better be on the game or getting burned may be the new standard. To make things even more difficult, the Gators use their tight end Jonathan Taite and explosive halfback Avery Jordan to a large extent and they will make you pay for forgetting about them when lining up to stop this offense. Florida will be playing for pride and should come out firing to win this matchup.

On defense the Gators will throw their sack specialist Mohammed Dmour at TCU on every play. Followed up by linebackerss Xavier Halle and Marcin Olesniewicz who love to stop the run and are going to be jacked up for this one and look to be a nightmare for halfback Koda Adok. Florida has a talent rich secondary with corners Dakota Wolf, Chaz Gorbachuk, Deandre Walton, and safeties Othello Jones and Elliot Wells. The no fly zone will be heavily enforced tonight. It’s time for some Gator ball.

TCU

The Horned Frogs are coming off there first win of the season and hope to stay in the win column tonight with their own talent-rich offense. halfback Koda Adok is coming off a sub par performance at the expense of the Miami Hurricanes, and if I know anything he will be looking to improve on that tonight. Having quarterback James Kovach and wideout Jared Tetonis in sync with each other both players should put up big numbers. The key to this game for them will be stay away from turnovers.

Defense is another story all by its self. TCU will run out DPOY candidate linebacker Aaron Davis who is second in the league in tackles without even playing yet tonight. He is a run stopper and a ball hawk who has no problem dropping into coverage when needed. Bookends Marlon Davis and Jabril Jackson are bulls at rushing the quarterback and are a big reason the Frogs are one of the top teams in the country in sacks. Don’t let this teams defensive ranking fool you the secondary of Seth Maynard, Stokley Ferdinand, and Dazhawn Morrison can cause problems for opposing teams and the do have a teams total of 9 takeaways.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

This game is going to come down to who can protect the ball and stick to there game plan. It will come down to Kingston Fox the newcomer vs James Kovach the veteran. Both guys have big arms and can sling it around, But both throw picks too. The guy with the least mistakes should win tonight.

PREDICTION

Florida wins a close one tonight. I just can’t see them losing six games in a row.
