Originally a QB in high school coaches noticed his route runny savvy and incredibly sticky hands. He attended a few US recruiting camps where he began to attract the attention of American coaches. He decided to pursue his dream of playing D1 even though in Canada he was the top recruit in USports ( the Canadian college football association) with offers from every major Canadian school in his sophomore season.
