Success is when opportunity meets hard work, but for Francis it has never been the case. Like all other players Francis too work hard to improve himself but unlike 90% of the players his struggles had been two fold. Francis childhood was mess, at 10 years of age he was put in foster home system because his mom was convicted criminal and hid dad passed away few years back.Francis like most of the children without proper parenting developed some psychological issues. He was rude, introvert, claustrophobic and had a unique problem of selective mutism. He wasn’t able to talk with strangers till he was 12, it was then he was put in with the atkins family by the state. They showed Francis what being a human really meant. They loved and cared for Francis like a family and slowly Francis started to come out his shell. But as we all know teenage years is not kind to children who are for lack of better understanding termed as ‘abnormal’ or ‘simpleton’ by their peers. As soon as Francis started showing improvement he also started getting bullied. In short his life was hell, the only good thing he liked about himself was that he was good in sport, he was a fast runner and had a talent for tactical understanding of the game situations. Thus he chose to focus on what he was good at to ignore all the other problems of his life.
His talent and raw skills were first spotted by his school football coach who guided and developed him through his varsity years. After finding his passion francis seemed to get a new lease in life, he started focusing more on positive than negatives. He worked on overcoming his fears, his issues and above all being the best wide receiver as he can be for his team.He trained, he played games, he did his studies,. He slept and he repeated this actions five days a week. And thus we reached the current time, where now Francis is waiting to see whether all his hard work will meet opportunity and provide him success.
