When Johnny was young he did not do to well in school. His mind would turn to the water where he felt at home. Previously from Texas, his family moved to the fishing town of Gloucester, Massachusetts to kickstart his fathers fishing business. While young Johnny was the focus of ridicule from his classmates but his love for the sea helped him escape from the ups and downs of every day life. Due to him feeling alienated from the clique society, he would be forced to pick up a football by his mother. From that day on he had found his second love. He was not the most athletic kid but his big frame, arm strength, and his IQ made him a day 1 starter for his team. At Gloucester he was able to win back to back state championships as a freshman and sophomore. After that he transferred to a prep school to better his career and get looks by college coaches. He would go on to lose in a first round stunner his junior year but would regroup and lead his team to a championship to end his high school career. His second life as a fisherman has taught him many lessons about football and life. He has learned the need for patience, the value of having a strong hard working team by your side and the fact that getting the job done is all that matters, no matter how hard, annoying, or lengthy it is. Johnny only has two goals with his college career. To win national titles for his school and to make enough in NIL money to start his own commercial fishing boat on the hit show Wicked Tuna. John wants his legacy to be about winning and in the end he hopes to live and die a fisherman, and for the people to call him John the Fisherman.
