The latest and hottest recruit from Meigs, Ohio, is none other than Adaviyan Augustin. Following in the footsteps of other alumni, Derrick Russell, Xavius Holmes, and Beau Justice, Adaviyan made his name known throughout the TVC. “Ada ‘nother” became his nickname as he was a savant at finding the endzone. While Adaviyan had great statistical numbers, including breaking the school rushing record as a freshman (which he broke again as a sophomore), it fell apart his junior year.
His coach the first two seasons retired. The school then hired Coach Styles, but he was let go mid season after a massive argument with the school board over some financial issues. Augustin’s stats and wins suffered. His senior year they hired a new full time coach, Coach Everhart, but this new coach took issue with Adaviyan personally, and limited his carries. To the frustration of everyone, when Adaviyan got the ball, he did great, he just would barely get touches!
His senior night, Adaviyan rushed for 87 yards on just 4 carries. He got to the 1 yard line, where the coach then subbed him out for an offensive lineman, who then fumbled the ball and costed Meigs the win. This loss ultimately didn’t matter, as Meigs finished with a pathetic 3-5 record.
Heartbroken with how his final two seasons went, Adaviyan is hoping to keep his football career alive with going to college. Having a good relationship with his coach and winning games are the most important things to him as he preps for recruitment.
