Baker Thomas is from the small town of Essex, Vermont. Baker grew up under a father who played division 3 football at a nearby college and a mother who was a collegiate swimmer at the same school. Baker showed signs of exceptional talent throwing the football as early as 6th grade. In 8th grade, Baker was offered a scholarship to play at a Vermont powerhouse high school but turned it down to play with friends and his father, the offensive coordinator, at the lesser talented Essex High School. Baker won the starting job as a Freshman and led the team to a 3-7 record, their most wins in 3 seasons. As a sophomore and junior the team finished 5-5 and Baker through for over 25 TDs each season . In his senior season Baker led the team to a 7-3 record qualifying for their first playoff berth in 22 years. In the first round they upset Middlebury High School and lost in the second round by a last second field goal to St. Johnsbury Academy, the same school that offered him a scholarship . Baker finished the season with 4,364 yards and 37 TDs and 8 INTs . He is looking to continue his college career in the CFSL and have even more success then he did in high school
