Growing up in a military family Maalik moved around a lot. Due to the constant moving Maalik did not have many friends, so he put all of his time into football. When Maalik was 15, his father died in combat. All his life his mother had struggled with a drug addiction and after his fathers death, she relapsed forcing him to move to Houston with his Aunt. His Aunt, a successful lawyer, paid for Maalik to recieve elite football training. This is when Maalik really started to blossom as a football player. Now Maalik has only one goal in life, to make the NFL.
