Throughout life Marcus had it hard. He grew up in the projects where there was a shooting every day/night. His father worked a full time job while his mother was on drugs and in and out of jail. Since Marcus’s dad had a full time job he was able to afford for his son to play football. Before high school Marcus and his father move to a better environment. Once Marcus got to high school he hit an incredible stride. He only gave up 3 catches for 45 yards his whole entire high school career adding on with 12 deflections 18 ints and 85 tackles awarding him to be named in the McDonalds all American game. During high school Marcus managed to keep a 3.8 GPA and was named valedictorian of his class. The Skyhawks which was Marcus’s high school team made it all the way to the championship and won by a game winning field goal and Marcus was awarded mvp due to helping his team get the ball back to get the game winning field goal. The int Marcus had was quite incredible. Marcus was interviewed after saying “jobs not finished” knowing he has a big invite to the McDonalds all American game. In the all American game Marcus had the game of his life snagging 4 ints, 2 deflections, and 5 tackles opening eyes of more and more scouts. Marcus said after that game his mother is what gave him the motivation that anything is possible when you put trust in yourself. After that game Marcus came to find out that his mother beat her addiction and is doing better than ever! But the bad news is Marcus’s father passed away two weeks after the all American game from cancer. This hit Marcus hard but since his loss he’s been in the gym and working his hardest to get to the top as a CB.
