Samson Gump, yes that Gump family, is from the little town of Greenbow, Alabama. He has inherited speed from his grandfather, who played for the Bear in the 60s. Samson is named after the biblical Samson. While he doesn’t have superhuman strength like that, he is a force to be reckoned with in the secondary.
Samson, as most small schools athletes, played all over the field at Greenbow High School. He was a three-time All State at both QB and DB. Most recruiting experts see him playing FS at the next level due to his inexperience in a conventual spread schemes most college programs run.
