Belle West Virginia has done it again. The hometown of Randy Moss has done the impossible. Produced a recruit better than the man himself. Ty Wolfe may just be the best High School WR the country has ever seen.
While DuPont High has been shut down for years the Belle product has been dazzling at little Riverside High School for the last 4 years.
Freshmen year Ty helped Riverside win its first State Title on the grid iron. He finished second in the Kennedy Award that year (Top player in the state of WV) and was overlooked nationwide for playing at a lower level school. Ty reeled in 102 receptions for 1835 yards and 25 TD that year
Sophomore year Ty won his second straight state title and brought home the Kennedy Award as well. He was also a 1st team All American. Ty put up an eye popping 136 receptions, 2347 yards and 50 TD. No that’s not a typo.
Junior year was the same song and dance as the Belle native won his 3rd straight state title, 2nd Kennedy Award and also won the Gatorade National Player of the year. Ty broke Mark McDonahughs national reception record as well as Marvin Mimms national receiving record with 167 receptions good for 2756 yards and 61 TD.
Senior year Ty did what Ty does. Obliterate all opposition all year. Ty won his 4th straight title 3rd Kennedy Award, 2nd Gatorade National Player of the year, and his second All American nod. His senior season he tallied 179 receptions 2978 yards and 71 TD which put him one under Kazmeir Allen for the single season national TD record.
Ty ended the greatest high school career with
584 receptions 9916 yards and 207 TD. There have been many critics that call for the weak competition of West Virginia High School Football for these gaudy numbers but Ty has produced in camps to prove otherwise.
Ty has shown out against many CFSL greats at national camps including Wisconsin’s Riley Feagle, Florida’s Lincoln Griffin, Michigan’s Charlie Pickett and Kentuckys DJ Brooks. This hasn’t been enough for some doubters though and when asked why he did not transfer to an IMG of a DeMathas Ty was quoted “ Riverside was all in one me from pee wee so I was gonna ride for them no matter what. I was blessed that I had a great career there and no matter how it effects my recruiting I don’t regret a thing.”
Ty is gonna add an instant explosion to wherever he lands. Ty and his family have kept their cards pretty close to their chest though as no where has any ideas where he looks to play next. Ty’s goals in the CFSL have been reported as:
1. Win CFSL title
2. Become the first CFSL receiver to have 2000 yards
3. Leave the CFSL as the greatest wideout to ever play.
If Ty isn’t on your recruiting board right now he better be.
